Unfortunately, H. pylori is hard to kill, resulting in the use of potent antibiotic cocktails in standard medical practice.
Antibiotic resistance is growing at a rapid pace, however, and worry about permanent alterations in the gastrointestinal microbiota post these antibiotic cocktails are necessitating a change in thinking about Helicobacter treatment.
In this lecture, Dr Jason Hawrelak highlights the many foods, drinks, supplements and herbal medicines that have shown the capacity to kill H. pylori and promote healing of the ulcers themselves. He finishes with a case study showing eradication of H. pylori with a combination of natural medicines and foods, where both triple and quadruple therapy had previously failed. Antibiotic cocktails are not the only answer to this common infection!
